Chocolate Baroque Colour Challenge #4

Ooooh! I'm bad!

Completely forgot to publish this scheduled post.... it should have gone out yesterday. Maybe it's this awful weather we're having ... or maybe I'm consumed by guilt for having polished the last slice of cheese cake and for shamelessly licking the plate. Whatever the reason, I plain forgot to get this card out and to entice you into playing along with Chocolate Baroque's brand new Colour Challenge #4.

I hope it's not too late! The colours are gorgeous and the DT makes nothing short of spectacular! Here's my humble offering:

For the background I stamped the floral stamp form the Texture Fragments A4 sheet with TH Black Soot and heat set it with Stampendous Clear EP. Then I inked the background with TH Ripe Persimmon, Wild Honey and Aged Mahogany. On the 4 corners I attached 4 pink brads. To finish, a sheer bow in dark red. (Can't go wrong with a big fat bow!)

The focal image is from the Butterfly Dreams A4 sheet, stamped with Versafine Black Onyx onto watercolour paper. I coloured the image with TH Ripe Persimmon and Wild Honey using a Sakura Koi WaterBrush #2. With a white gel pen I went over the stalks for an added pop of white.

On the inside, I stamped a stalk from from the Wild Meadow A4 sheet with TH Wild Honey and Bundled Sage.

A few challenges for this card:

Crafty Girls Challenge #29: Anything Goes
Addicted To Stamps #117: Make Your Mark - water colouring with distress inks
Word Art Wednesday #154: Anything Goes Inspirational

The challenge will close at 12.00 p.m. (UK) on Tuesday 18th November 2014, and the winner will be announced on Wednesday 26th November 2014. I hope you'll play along and run the risk of winning £15 to spend on Chocolate Baroque stamps. Are you game?

Thank you so much for stopping buy. I'll try an get myself more organised but with just one more day left in the week, I had better get my skates on! See ya in blogland, friends!

Tuesday Throwdown #217: Awareness

Hello, friends! Are you ready for another Tuesday Throwdown? Let's get straight to it!

This week it's all about "Awareness". It can be about anything: from Breast Cancer to Autism. Our sponsor this week is Bugaboo and I'm using their Breast Cancer image called: Pink Ribbon Gals - Vivian.

The patterned papers is from a very old MME pack... Quite
Contrary, I think.

Meet Vivian. She's a strong gal. I coloured her with
Graph'It and Promarkers

A little good luck wish on the inside.

How about we spread the word by entering these challenges:

Crafting From The Heart #40: AG
Pinky Dolls #4: AG or Fall Colours
Sweet Stampin': For A Friend
The Crafting Café October: Think Pink
Sisterhood of Crafters: Think Pink Breast Cancer Awareness

Now it's your turn to create a project based on this week's theme: "Awareness". For ideas and inspiration, take a peek at what the rest of the DT members have made. Remember to link up your project at the Tuesday Throwdown Challenge Blog by 3pm Pacific / 11pm UK by Monday, October 20th. And the most important requirement: Have Fun!

Thanks for stopping by today and I wish y'all a beautiful Tuesday.

Autumn Peppers

Good morning, friends. How's the weather over at your end? Here's it's wet, cold and windy... perfect weather to be at home ... crafting. Oh well...., maybe one day, eh? For now I want to show you a step card featuring the stalk of peppers from Chocolate Baroque's new October release stamps called Autumn Poppy A4 stamp sheet.

I created the background by blending Tim Holtz Distress Inks in blue and yellow. The colours are: Peacock Feathers, Broken China, Bundled Sage and Squeezed Lemonade. On the side panels I used one of the leafy stamps from the Autumn Poppy set and TH's DI Peacock Feathers to frame and create a background. On the central panel I used a stamp from the Texture Fragments A4 stamp sheet and Mowed Lawn.

The sentiment is from the Loving Sentiments A5 stamp sheet and I stamped it on vellum with Brilliance Graphite Black. It's fast drying, slightly pearlescent and perfect for stamping on vellum. For layering I used red CS - the contrast really makes the blues and greens pop. More fussy cut leaves in the bottom panel.

I stamped the peppers with Memento Tuxedo Black and coloured the image with these Graph'It markers:
Leaves: Amazon, Tuscany, Pistachio, Anise
Peppers: Halloween, Carrot, Curry, Mango, Honey
Flower: Mimosa, Sun, Lemon
Stalk: Mocha, Bronze
A little fussy cutting, quick dry glue and voila!

A few challenges for this card:

That's all from me today. Must dash.... plenty to do. Thanks for stopping by and I'll see y'all tomorrow!

Merci - the sequel

Happy Wednesday, friends. I want to share this card with you ... which I sheepishly admit is a few days late. The hours and days move too quickly ... I just can't keep up! Before we hit the weekend, let me just get this card out for ya!

I'm playing with Chocolate Baroque's new October release A4 stamp sheet called Autumn Poppy. And it's available now at a very special price.

This is a simple card. No fancy tools needed - blendable inks and alcohol markers and you're pretty much done.
Moving away from the darker autumn colours, this time I'm opting for the brighter tones for the background by blending Distress Inks in Wild Honey, Mustard Seeds and a touch of Spiced Marmalade.  The greeting is from Pretty Poppies stamped with Versafine Black Onyx.
I cut two slits the width of the ribbon, threaded it through and tied a bow around the bouquet.

Here is a close-up of the bouquet. I coloured it with Graph'It markers:
Poppies: 5210, 5220, 5245
Greens: 8130, 8150, 8160, 8180
Butterflies: 7125,7140, 7155
Then I randomly dotted some Daffodil Liquid Pearls around the flowers.

Inside, I stamped a floral image from the Autumn Poppy stamp sheet, in TH Mustard Seed Distress Ink.

Now for some challenges:

There! That should do it! LOL. Hope you're having a beautiful Wednesday. It's chucking it down big time over here. Thanks for stopping by... or should I say Merci ? :) Catch up with y'all in blogland, friends. Stay dry!

Christmas Card Club #21: Carol Singers

The girls are back and this fortnight we have Sue P in pole position with a brand new theme: Carol Singers. Christmas wouldn't be the same without a sing-along, would it?

I decided on the is cute image from Polkadoodles Work & Play 5: Festive Hollybobs. In fact, I got all I needed to make this card from this CD!

The paper and embellishments are from the Hollybobs CD. I just did a load of fussy
cutting .... very therapeutic. For a little dimension (not too much because I want this to
be post-friendly) I added a few pale blue bling around the carollers, yellow liquid pearls
in the centre of the poinsettias and tied a twine bow around the gift box.

Here's a close-up of the carollers. The photo is a little over-exposed.... just couldn't
get the lighting right yesterday. Of course, there's stitching... can't do without it!

I wanted the inside to be fun and playful. So I thew in a couple of embellies from
the Hollybobs CD. The greeting is a die-cut from Britannia Dies.

Sending the song-birds to these challenges:

CHNC #197: Something Starting With P - Poinsettia

Merci

Hello friends! Hope you are well. I have had a hectic couple of days and in my haste I completely forgot to post this card. It should have gone out yesterday. Oh well, here it is. I have another one for you tomorrow. Let's see if I can get that out on time! :)

Here's a side step card I made with stamps from Chocolate Baroque's new Autumn Poppies A4 stamp sheet. This is autumn at it's best and I love everything about autumn: the colours, the smells, the cooler temperature. There is an unspoken excitement in the air - Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas ... so much to look forward to. Ok, maybe I don't like everything about autumn. Sweeping up falling leaves... well, I'd happily give that a miss!

Lots of browns, muted gold, burnt orange and a hint of yellow on this card. Start by blending Tim Holtz Distress Inks for the bg: Rusty Hinge, Wild Honey, Peeled Paint, Walnut, Vintage Photo, Antique Linen. Dark colours around the edges with lighter tones toward the middle.
Then I randomly stamped a leaf from the Autumn Poppies sheet with Memento Potter's Clay. The greeting is from Pretty Poppies A5 stamp sheet, heat embossed in white.

Here's a close-up of the mushrooms. I must admit, I never really saw mushrooms as a thing of beauty, much less have them on a card! I think I've changed my mind. These guys are coloured with Graph'It markers: 1210, 1230, 3120, 3245, 3255, 9303, 9304 and 9306. Next I fussy cut and mounted on foam tape. I stamped more leaves with Memento Potter's Clay coloured with Promarkers Olive Green and Moss then fussy cut and adhered them to the card.

More falling leaves. This time I coloured them with Graph'It 3125 and 3140, fussy and randomly adhered them to the steps of the card.

Taking my 'shrooms to these challenges:

Ok, must dash! Thank you so much for stopping by and I'll see ya tomorrow with another card.

Eclectic Ellapu October: Flowers

Woohoo! It's October! Let's make it a good one, shall we? With that in mind we're kicking off the month Eclectic Ellapu's October challenge. The theme for the Pink Team is "Flowers" and the Purple Team's brief is "Texture Paste / Embossing". You can choose to play with either team or both.

I made a thank you card with featuring pink Rosa Canina (Dog Rose).  I found this picture of the dog rose in Wikimedia Commons and tried to colour the stamped image in pretty much the same way. Not a perfect match but almost there!

Here's my card:

This a small card: 4"x3". The greeting is from CB's Pretty Poppies and the rose is
from Pretty Birdcage.

Here's a close-up of the dog rose. I coloured it with Graph'It markers and placed
a pearl in the middle of one rose.

Challenges for this card:

Deep Ocean Challenge #87: At Least One Flower
{PIN}spirational #125: Anything Could Happen
PPinky Dolls: AG/ Make It Girly
The Pink Elephant #270: AG
Graph'It Colouring Crazy #38: Pink

You can enter one or both challenges as many times as you wish, but make sure you link up your projects by 11:59pm GMT on 31 October 2014.

That's all from me for now. Thank you so much for dropping in today and have a lovely day!
