Thanks a Bunch!

Hello friends! This is a very quick post from me. We're having a veterinary crisis at home. Rosie, the elderly matriarch of our furry brood, is unwell. She was diagnosed with cancer last year. She valiantly battled the disease and survived the gruelling treatment. But she hasn't been "herself" the past couple of weeks and I cannot help but fear its the dreaded C rearing its ugly head again. I'm taking her to the vet. I hope I'm overreacting, I hope it's just the flu.

Here's a thank you card I made for my superstar friend who made some canine-friendly chicken soup for my Rosie.

The card measures 4.5"x3.5" and will go with a box of my friend's
favourite chocolates (She will enlist my help to finish! :-D).
The background papers are from an old faceless nameless pack.

The image is from WMS Spring Baskets set, coloured with Promarkers.
The greeting is from WMS Compact Sentiments, stamped with VersaFine Onyx Black.
To finish: red bling and sheer orange ribbon.

On the inside I stamped a sentiment from WMS Say It Loud.

Some challenges for this card:

Tuesday Morning Sketches #248: Sketch
Waltzingmouse Fanatics #17: Colours
Crafty Sentiments: AG
Word Art Wednesday #131: AG Uplifting
Papertake Weekly: AG
Bearly Mine May Challenge: Flowers

That's all from me. Thanks for dropping by today. Off to the vet with Rosie ... wish us luck!

Christmas Gift Cards For A Friend - 1

Just  a quick post today, my friends. I'm making a few mini cards for a friend. She's a potter and at Christmas she gives away some pretty pieces as gifts for friends and family. I offered to make half a dozen (or so) gift cards to accompany her beautiful work .

I made 3 little cards ... and I got bored. Later this week I'll make a few more... different designs. Clearly, I am not a mass producer of anything.

The poinsettia and greeting are from Clearly Besotted's "Pretty Poinsettia" set, cut with the coordinating die collection. I used Nellie Snellen's Dotted Circle die to cut the doily out of vellum. I embossed the background using the Swiss Dots folder.

I mounted the matted panel onto the card base with some foam tape. Embellies: twine & bling.

Here are all three cards. No more poinsettias for a while. :-)

I'm taking my card to the following playpens:
Less Is More #143 "Twine / String"
CAS Colours and Sketches #48 - sketch
Top Tip Tuesday #112 "Black & White + splash of colour"
Scrapping 4 Fun #5 "Christmas / Holiday"
Perfect Sentiments #97 "Poinsettia Christmas"

That's all from me today. We off for a ride on the motorbike. It's a sunny day and, after a week of heavy downpour, it's a blessing to be able to see the sun again. I won't pretend it's warm but it's dry...so I ain't complaining. Thank you for stopping by and I'll see y'all later this evening in blogland.

Have a blessed Sunday!

3 Birthday Minis

Hello there, fellow crafters! I hope you're enjoying the weekend. This is a very quick post of 3 minis I made last night ... because I need them for today... because I live for the stress of last-minute projects... not! Why the rush?  We have a birthday party / BBQ later this afternoon for 3 siblings who were born exactly a day and a year apart. That's some wicked planning on the part of their parents!

I'm going CAS again...might as well since I enjoyed my last foray into that well-trimmed field. Tell me what you think... and be honest.

There's all three together.

I embossed some pale cream CS with the Swiss Dots folder and did a Direct To Paper with Memento Bamboo Leaves to bring out the spots. Then I cut out some half inch flags using scrap bits from Cosmo Cricket's Togetherness pad.

The cupcake is from Clearly Besotted's It's Your Birthday set, cut with its coordinating die. To stamp the cupcake I used Mememto Potter's Clay and Bamboo Leaves for the "cherry". For layering and matting I used Spellbinder's Circles and Scalloped Circles dies.  Just one bling for a celebratory sparkle.

And plenty of foam tape for dimension.

On the inside I have a greeting from the It's Your Birthday set, stamped with Memento Espresso Truffle.

And now for some challenges:

That's all from me today. Enjoy the weekend my friends and stay cool!

Gift of Miniature Cards

I'm excited to share my latest project with you - a set of 5 miniature cards (notelets?) in a box. I made it as a gift for a dear friend. It's nothing fancy but I think she will appreciate it. I took the sketch from this week's Tuesday Morning Sketches #188 , rotated it, squared it up and churned out little teeny tiny cards. At 3"x3" these are way smaller than your standards cards but I actually find their smallness rather endearing. Plus, these cards are the perfect size for using up all those scrap pieces of DP. Let me introduce you to the cast of characters:

Here is the box that houses the little cards. It measures 4" x 3-1/2" x 1".  I'm using the TMS sketch on the box too. The DPs are by WRMK Travel Light and Basic Grey Life of the Party. The sentiment is from WMS Compact Sentiments 2, stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black. I used some Doodlebug orange twine to tie a bow and XCut Lace Border Punch for the blue trim.

I popped the sentiment on some foam tape and the lid of the box fits snugly under / behind the blue lace trim. The box comfortably holds 5 little cards + envelopes.

Card #1: Thinking of You
EF: Cuttlebug's Argyle.   DP: BG "Life of the Party".   Sentiment: WMS Compact Sentiment 2.   Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black.   Embellies: ribbon and bling.

Card #2: Just For You
EF: Cuttlebug's D'Vine Swirls.   DP: MME "Pretty Please".   Sentiment: WMS Compact Sentiment 1.    Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black.   Embellies: ribbon and card candi.

Card #3: Miss You
EF: Crafts Too Daisies EF.   DP: MME "Quite Contrary".   Sentiment: WMS Compact Sentiments 2.   Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black.   Embellies: ribbon and button.

Card #4: Hey How Are You?
EF: Craft Concepts Woodgrain.   DP: BG "Life of the Party".   Sentiment: WMS Compact Sentiments 1.   Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black.   Embellies: twine and bling.

Card #4: Best of Luck
EF: Cuttlebug Swiss Dots.   DP: WRMK "Travel Light".   Sentiment: WMS Compact Sentiments 2.   Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black.   Embellies: ribbon and crystal flower.

I'm actually quite pleased with the way they turned out. There's a card for every ocassion. I'm also chuffed at being able to work a standard sketch onto a dinky card. This will make a lovely gift for Easter too - a set with Pascal greetings will go down nicely with a few people I know. Going to work on that next.... I hope!

Candy News: My Spring Giveaway collection is now closed. I will draw one lucky Follower from the list using Random Org. The winner will be announced on my blog tomorrow, March 8 at 9:00am GMT. Make sure you come back to check if it's you.

That's all from me today. Thank you so much to stopping by. See ya tomorrow!

Easter Escapade #2: Candy Floss Easter

I'm strapped for time today so it's going to be a quick show and tell. We are on to the second card in my Easter Escapade series. Today I have a sweet confection to share with you...think candy floss, sugar coated almonds and Chocolate Buttons ala Cadbury's. Here it is:

The papers are by My Mind's Eye. Instead of my usual 1/8" borders, I went for 1/4".... not sure if I like it as much.

I popped the image up with foam tape and for layering I used  Spellbinder Postage Stamp die. For added sweetness... chocolate buttons. Sorry if I mislead you but these are real chocolate button... not the ones by Cadbury's which I adore!

Close-up of my basket of sweet goodies. The stamps are from WMS Spring Basket set, coloured with SN markers.  It's quite a busy, fussy card so I kept the colouring plain and simple.

On the inside I just had to throw in an extra egg for my eggstra special friend.

I'm taking this card to: Paper Playtime #5, Nana Vic's Challenge #4, Victorine Originals #54 and Papertake Weekly - "Anything Goes"; My Craft Spot #89 "Tasty Treats"; Whoopsi Daisy Challenge "2 Patterned Papers" and Just Us Girls - sketch.

Another card I want to show you is this simple one I made for a friend. She'll be featuring her awesome ceramic creations at a craft fair soon and I want to give a little note to wish her luck.

That's all from me today.... must dash! Thanks for taking the time to drop in. See ya tomorrow!

And oh, don't forget, my Spring Giveaway is still on and will close tomorrow on 7 March 2013 at 9:00pm GMT. If you are a Tatty Teddy fan, you cannot miss this giveaway. Click HERE to participate.

Easter Escapade #1: A Manly Easter

Just a quick post for you my friends. It just hit me that Easter is but a few short weeks away. And I still have a quite a few cards to make, especially for our friends at church. So I'm thinking of doing things CAS ... my way, of course. I'm sure CAS practioners will cringe at my efforts, but you know what? It's too late to fret over details!

Much like my Holiday Bail-out series last year, I'm starting an Easter Escapade series. The cards will be 4-1/4" square, simple with minimum doo-dats.  I'm not sure how many I can make between now and Easter, but I'm aiming for at least 12. Let the race begin.

I used Craft Concept's Woodgrain folder to emboss the background.

That little bit of patterned paper is from Cosmo Cricket's Togetherness 6x6 pad. I also adhered 3 yellow blings.

The cross is from Chocolate Baroque's Easter Traditions set, stamped with Memento Espresso Truffle. I also added a yellow bling in the centre.

Plain and simple on the inside. The sentiment is from WMS Spring Basket set, stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black.

The sketch for my card is from Inkspirational Challenge #9. Other challenges: Aud Sentiments "Easter"; Challenges 4 Everybody #15 "Anything Goes"; 613 Avenue Create "Tic TAc Toe - Diecut, Stamped Image, Free"; No Matter What Challenges #7 " AG but must use a stamp / digi"; My Time To Craft "211 "Embossing"; Word Art Wednesday #69 "Anythings Goes with Uplifting Sentiment" and Paper Players #135 "In Stitches"

And don't forget, my Spring Giveaway is still on and will close on 7 March 2013 at 9:00pm GMT. If you are a Tatty Teddy fan, click HERE.

That's all from me today. Thanks for stopping by and have a blessed Sunday!

Bravo!

Well hello there! This is going to be a fly-by post. A basket of laundry is leering at me... daring me to make a wash. How can I not call it's bluff?! As soon as I'm done here, I'm heading off to the river to beat some sheets.

Back in the 21st century, this is my 76th consecutive MojoMonday card. It's the one sketch challenge that I have played without fail. I'm going to see how long I can keep it going. But I digress. Today's card is for my choir mistress. She's having a concert next week and I thought I'll send her a note. And here it is:

I'm using up my stash. These are SU! papers from way back when. I think this is another one of my CAS My Way cards.; but my friend Sandie will have a thing or two to say about that bold statement!

The greeting is from MS Fancy Phrases and the musical heart is from Chocolate Baroque's Music Fanfare set.
All stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black.

For embellies I have 3 black pearls and ...

...  some yellow Doodlebug Twine wrapped around and tied in a bow.

On the inside I stamped the clef from CB's Musical Fanfare and the sentiment is from WMS'Compact Sentiments 2.

Here's the MojoMonday #282 sketch that I used to make my card. As you can see, I went with the square. Some of the challenges that inspired me: Sunny Stamps Challenge #37 "Whisper White, Daffodil Delight and Basic Black"; Whoopsidaisy Challenge "Add A Sentiment"Cards In Envy "Dots and / or Stripes" - just dots on mine; Love To Create Challenge "Wrap It Up: String / Twine / Fibres" - just twine on mine and Stamps + Fun = Creativity #140 "Heart" .

So that's it for this evening. I'll be on my way to the river now. Thanks for dropping in and I'll see y'all soon.

Bright Easter

Here's another late night post for you, my friends! I made this quick little Easter card using an image I had coloured a while back but got lost, buried in the organised chaos of my craft table. Quite unexpectedly, it resurfaced this evening. So I grabbed and stuck it on a card before it went walkies again. Here it is:

I embossed the blue CS with Crafts-Too Daisy folder and used up some scrap patterned paper from Basic Grey's Hello Luscious 6x6 pad, which I've had like,  forever.

The egg is a digi by Robyn's fetish which I coloured with SN markers. No fancy shading here - I was going for a bright and bold look. I've got some Red Stickles on the bow and to finish, a button and some Doodlebug twine.

The greeting is from Chocolate Baroque's "Butterfly Easter" set, stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black. And  just for fun I added some green bling.

And for the inside, another left-over bit of paper form the BG pad.

Challenges? Well, why not.... Crafting by Designs "Anything Goes"; Papertake Weekly "Buttons & Bling"; Bearly Mine #74 "Lace / Ribbon / Twine"; Oldie but Goodie "Bright Colours" (BG Hello Luscious, now retired) and Our Daily Bread Designs #174 "Easter".

Thanks for stoping by. I'm off to bed now. Have a beautiful day / evening and we'll catch up soon.

A Couple of Cupcakes

Hello there! I'm popping in very quickly to post a couple of cards I put together (rather hurriedly) last night. We have birthday party to attend this afternoon - 12 year-old twin girls. With all the goings-on of the past week I plum forgot to make their cards. So here it is: not very artistic nor imaginative... my kinda CAS (sorry Sandie! :-D) but I have a feeling they'll like it... (I hope!)

The patterned paper is from Dovecraft's Sugar and Spice 8x8 pad. The square card measures 4-1/4".

I cut and layered the cupcake image using Spellbinders Circles (SM & LG ) and Scalloped Circle (LG) dies. No foam tape because I couldn't find it - my craft table is in such a state... I blame the cyclone in Australia. But I managed to get my hands on some pink gingham ribbon.

Here's a close-up of the image. It's a digi from PolkaDoodles Welcome Home CD. I applied some Stickles and a pink bling to jazz it up.

The sentiment is from WMS Compact Sentiments set, stamped with Memento Rich Cocoa. Cutting and layering done with Spelbinders Oval (LG) and Scalloped Oval (LG) dies.

Here are both the cards. I've made them identical... don't want to be responsible for starting a food fight at the party!

I'm linking my card with these challenges: Paper Crafting Journey "For A Girl"; Crafty Ribbons #38 "Anything Goes with Ribbon"; Sandy's Craftt Creations "February Anything Goes with a Twist - Birthday"; House of Gilli #49 "Anything Goes with Pink"; Carisma Cardz #4 "Pink & Brown" and Moving Along With The Times "Punch It Out - Fave Punches / Dies" - I'm using my go-to Spell binders Circles and Scallops.

Rosie's News: My little pumpkin is feeling better than she did yesterday...I think. She's still not eating very well, so I've resorted to hand-feeding just to get a decent amount in her. She has a few meds to take orally and an empty tummy simply will not do. Thank you for all your thoughts and prayers, which I'm diligently passing on to Rosie.  :-D

I'm a little behind on my visits and comment but will catch up today, so I dare say I'll be seeing you around soon! Thanks for stopping by and have a blessed weekend!
