Double Flower Power

Good morning, friends. I'm playing with Chocolate Baroque's new Flowerhead stamps and today I've used 2 -  Dotty Centre Flowerhead and Circle Centre Flowerhead - to make a one layer card.
  1. Start by stamping one flowerhead in the top right hand corner in the front of the card base and another in the top left hand corner inside the card, with VersaFine Smokey Grey.
  2. Trim the around the flowerheads so that they stick out of the top and side edges. Use sharp precision scissors such as the Cutter Bee.
  3. Colour the flowerheads. I used Faber-Castell Polychromos.
  4. Ink from the edges, blending the Distress Inks inward, using Mermaid Lagoon and Cracked Pistachio. Stopping short of the flowerheads creates a halo effect.
  5. Stamp a greeting from Birthday Words A5 sheet with VersaFine Imperial Purple and fill the rest of the card with leaves from Autumn Poppy A5 sheet and VersaFine Spanish Moss.
  6. For a final flourish, little droplets of Liquid Pearls - Royal Blue and Hydrangea,  and a few strokes of Clear Wink of Stella pen on the petals.
And this is what it looks like on the inside:

Avenue 613 #152: AG

Come and Get It: AG With A Sentiment

I had fun making this card. The bright bold colours compliment the big flowers beautifully. As an added bonus, it's perfect for mailing overseas! Cheap and cheerful - that's what we like!

Just one final bit of news to share with you. Last Thursday the doggie stork dropped off a bouncing bundle of bow-wow. He is the reason for my sketchy blog presence.
Friends, meet Charlie - a three year-old yellow lab. He came to us through the good folks at Labrador Retriever Rescue Portugal. Charlie was not planned. I wasn't looking for another dog because wallowing in the memory of André and Rosie kept me busy. But, I've always said if there's a dog for us out there, he will find us.

And he did! It's time to channel my sadness into loving another pup. Peanut and Richard Parker are bemused by this gentle giant. Here's to a brand new chapter of cheerful canine adventures!

Thank you for stopping by today, but mostly for you patience, support and encouragement throughout the year ... and what a trying year it has been! With no shortage of heartbreaking events, I am grateful to have a hobby that I am passionate about and blog buddies who tirelessly cheer me on. Thank YOU! You have no idea how special you all are.

Have a blessed Advent Sunday, everyone.

Last Three Tags

I did it!!! I actually made 25 tags! I can scarcely believe it myself. So here's my last instalment... my last three tags for Tracey's 25 Days of Christmas Tags:

Day 23: Inspired by Lorena Camtó's tag. I cut out Lawn Fawn's Scripty Love with gold glitter foam  and stamped the background with Gingham Backdrops.

Day 24: Inspired by Ardyth Percy-Robb's tag. I like the double tag idea and made trees the main image on my tag. The stamps are from Clearly Besotted's Signature Christmas set.

Day 25: For my last tag, I'm going with CAS, inspired by Tracy Gruber's elephant tag.  I'm using Lawn Fawn's Party Animal and doo-dats from the Holiday Party Animal set.

And here's my final link-up for Tracey's 25 Days of Christmas Tags:

I'm off to bed now. It's waaaay past my bedtime and I can barely keep my eyes open. The weekend is a few hours away.... oh joy! Thank you so very much for stopping by.

Chocolate Baroque Colour Challenge #17

A new Chocolate Baroque Colour Challenge #17 has started and once again we've a collection of gorgeous colours for you to use in your projects. If you haven't played yet, now's the time to do so. These colours are so perfect for Christmas!

You can use any medium to create your projects: paints, inks, pencils, pens, stains, etc., as long as you stick to the colours from the colour swatch, using as much or as little of each colour as you wish.  You don't have to use Chocolate Baroque stamps to play along but if you do you will be entered into a random draw to win £15 to spend on Chocolate Baroque stamps. All participants will have a chance to be on the Design Team's Top Three list and proudly display winner's badge on their blog.

Here's my Christmas card featuring the brand new Swirl Centre Flowerhead. I inked up the background with Evergreen Bough and Cracked Pistachio. I stamped the corners with Colorbox Metallic Gold Ink and scattered some snowflakes with Mermaid Lagoon. The greeting is from the Christmas Cheer A5 sheet, stamped with VersaFine Crimson Red. To finish, gold ribbon tied in a simple knot and a few tiny gold bling.

Here's a closer look at the flowerhead. I heat embossed it with WOW Gold Rich EP, inked it up with Aged Mahogany and fussy cut it before adhering on the card with foam tape.

Before I dash off, here are a couple of tags I made for Tracey's 12 Tags of Christmas challenge, both featuring Chocolate Baroque stamps.

Day 20: Inspired by Tracey's tag. Mine is a CAS tag featuring the stag from Snowy Scenes A5 sheet, coloured with Faber Castell Polychromos. I cut the tag with LF Tag You're It die.

Day 22: Inspired by Tracey's tag. I stamped the skinny tree from Stained Glass Christmas A5 sheet and a greeting also from the same set. To finish, a light touch with Tumbled Glass, red pencil for the ornaments and Wink of Stella Gold for the star.

Still tagging along

Hello, friends! First, I want to thank you for leaving kind comments and sending encouraging emails for my recent bereavement. It's worse at this time of the year...

In the meantime, I found a little distraction in the craftroom and made these 3 little things for Tracey's 25 Days of Christmas Tags:

Day 16: Inspired by Tracey's tag. I used Lawn Fawn's Love You A Latte and coordinating dies. To finish - faux stitching.

Day 19: Inspired by Tracey's tag. I picked the colours and the bauble by Clearly Besotted for my take on the tag.

Day 21: Inspired by Judy Marino's tag. I've gone with the wreath and red-green colour combo. The stamps are by Clearly Besotted.

Good morning, friends. A super quick post fro me today. We've had a death in the family over the weekend and things are sort of hectic at home. I'm just  going to post 3 tags I made for Tracey's 25 Day of Christmas Tags. I'll be back later today to add some wordy bits to each tag.

Here's a quick fire intro:

Inkspirational Guest Post

I am super stoked to be guesting over at Inkspirational Challenges. For the next two weeks, the challenge will focus on this photo for inspiration:

I've used Clearly Besotted Stamps  to create this festive little number. The deer is from Merry Little Christmas and the greeting is from Christmas Sparkle, embossed in red. That big bow is there for a reason. It's hiding a little ooops. Enough said! :)

Here's a closer look at the image. I coloured him with my beloved Faber-Castell Polychromos, followed by lashings of Clear Wink of Stella and a blob of Glossy Accent on his red nose. A few white sparkly sequins around him and the card is done.

4 Crafty Chicks #273: Inspired By A Christmas Song - Rudolph The Red Nosed Reindeer.
Cardz For Galz #8: Fave Christmas Colour Combo - Red & White
Crafty Girls Creations #9: AG

Continuing my Christmas tags - here is my offering for Day17 of Tracey's 25 Days of Christmas Tags. I'm using Clearly Besotted's Pretty Poinsettia stamps and die. My inspiration came from Svitlana Shayevich's card with its burlap cardstock and poinsettia.

My second tag is for Day 18, inspired by Carrisa Wiley's tag with a tree and presents around it. The tree is from Lawn Fawn's Trim The Tree stamp set.

I'm linking both tags over at Tracey's 25 Days of Christmas Tags.

That's all from me today. Thank you so much for stopping by and have a wonderful weekend!

Pink Birthday Cake & Tags

Hello friends! It's Thursday and you can almost smell the weekend. More importantly, where has the week gone??? December is but a fortnight away... how's that for a scary thought!

On to more pressing matters... I have one card and two tags to show you. The first is a CAS card that took me.... 37 minutes to make. Yes, you read it right. A little over half an hour... which is an all time record for me. And it being a CAS card makes this a mind-blowng accomplishment!

I'm using my very first Lawn Fawn purchase... Bake Me A Cake. I bought this 4 years ago and haven't used it in a very long time. I paper pieced the cake, added some Clear Wink Of Stella, a few pale pink bling and Glossy Accent for the cherries. So this is CAS! Look at all that white space... driving me nuts!

CASology #173: Pretty
Addicted To Stamps & More: AG

And now for the two tags: Let's start with Day 13. I was inspired by Tracey's card. Instead of a wreath, I went with the circular shape and made Clearly Besotted's Little Pudding the focal image. I used the Scalloped Tag Die to cut out the tag. Glossy Accents on the berries and some Stardust Stickles on the pudding complete this tag.
Crafty Girls Creation #9: AG

My second tag today is for Day 14. I've practically CASE-ed Tracey's little tag... again.  The stars of my card are the fox and a cup of latte. I cut the tag with Lawn Fawn's Tag, You're It die. The coffee cup is from Love You A Latte an the fox is from Critters In The Forest. The greeting is from Winter Fox.
Simon Says Stamp Wednesday: Christmas

I'm linking both these tags at Tracey's 25 Days Of Christmas Tags and Happy Little Stampers November Christmas Challenge - Tags.

That's all from me today. Thank you so much for stopping by. Wish me luck with the tags. Still determined to do them all (dream BIG, I say!). Have a beautiful day, friends.

Flowers For You

Good morning friends. I've been getting inky with the brand new Swirl Centre Flowerhead stamp by Chocolate Baroque and created a simple yet elegant any occasion friendship card.

Here's how you make this card:
  1. Start by stamping 2 flowersheads with Versamark on water colour paper.
  2. Apply WOW Gold Rich Embossing Powder and heat set.
  3. Repeat above steps on 3 leaves (2 large and 1 small) from the Sunny Sunflowers sheet.
  4. Colour with Distress Inks: Abandoned Coral and Work Lipstick for the flowers and Peeled Paint for the leaves.
  5. Allow to dry completely and fussy cut. Split one of the flowerheads in half and save for another project.
  6. Trim a piece of cream card stock ¼" smaller than the card base.
  7. Stamp sentiment on the cream card front and adhere the flowers and leaves around it as shown above. Pop-up the half-bloom on foam tape for added dimension.
  8. Cut a ½" strip of green glitter foam and adhere behind the cream card, with ¼" edge showing.
  9. Apply foam tape behind the rest of the cream card and adhere to the card base.
Here's a closer look at the large bloom. I literally slapped on the colours -  Abandoned Coral inside and Worn Lipstick toward the edges. Don't fuss - just keep it loose and easy. This card was a nightmare to photograph because of the glare from the glitter and gold. The picture does not do it justice. Make it and you'll see what I mean. :)

Here's my tag for Day 10 of Tracey's 25 Days of Christmas Tags. I'm inspired by Suzanne Bier's tag with the wee dog running away with a sled full of pressies. The main character is from Lawn Fawn's Critters in the Dog Park and picked festive elements from Holiday Party Animal to help set the scene. The little hearts are from Love You A Latte and I stamped the greeting with Riley's ABC.

Thank you so much for stopping by. We've had a gloriously sunny weekend with blue skies, cool air and falling leaves everywhere. Here's to the beautiful and safe week for everyone.
