A Child Is Born

Yep, I made yet another Christmas card! I never have enough Christmas cards and MojoMonday is as good an excuse as any to make another but this time with a masculine twist.  Tell me what you think?

The papers are from "Christmas in the Country" 6x6 pad by Papermania. Manly embellishments: brown bling, lashings of Diamond Stickles, dark chocolate grosgrain ribbon double stitched in gold and Liquid Pearls. I distressed the edges and applied TH's Vintage Photo.


The image and greeting are both from Chocolate Baroque's Peace on Earth set, stamped in Memento Espresso Truffle.  I coloured the lantern with Graph'It markers. For cutting and layering: Spellbinders Circle and Scalloped Circle dies.

On the inside I stamped the snowflakes from the Peace On Earth set with Memento Rich Cocoa.

    LOL Asha your "ps" just goes to show that 'men are from Mars" but the fact that you got a "Very nice" from your dearest does show that you've cracked it on the masculine Christmas card front. Speaking as one from 'Venus' I would like to share with you that I think this card is so smart and classy. I love the rich browns with the gold accents with the more subtle colours of your backing paper. your colouring of your image is outstanding. Good luck in our challenge this week.     Oh Asha, this card is just lovely. I love the muted colour scheme which allows the lantern to shine bright. The inside of the card with the stars is stunning and makes me realize how much I need to do inside my cards at times. I chuckled at your story about your hubby.     Hi Asha - you do make me giggle - or rather your other half's comments do!! Men really are funny and they don't always know it! This is such a gorgeous card, I love the way the backing paper looks like Aida (the material to work cross-stitch on). It is so textural. I always love your stitching and the inside of your card is as nice as the outside. Love your choice of image too! I really am pleased to see you playing along with the OSAAT challenge this week, come back again soon.

    Had to smile about your hubby's comment - it's something my hubby could have said too....
    My hubby makes almost all dinners (he's great at cooking, I'm not), and that leaves more time for me to craft:)
    I think the brown and cream color scheme is really elegant, and the DP with reindeer is such a fun one!

Your Christmas card is perfect for a man with the coloring and the subtle touches of sparkle (which give an icy appearance to the lantern). I was taking in the stitching, the shading, all of it and liking it. Love that you finish the inside as well, it looks great. Your husband's comment made me chuckle.
