Hello there, crafty cronies. It's time for another Mojo Monday offering. I'm kicking off the week a Christmas card and here it is:

No DPs... yay! I embossed the green CS with Craft-Too's Daisy folder. No stitching either. Instead, I drew a border with a Gold Sharpie.

The baubles are from Chocolate Baroque's "Stained Glass" set, heat embossed in gold and coloured with Promarkers. Then I added big blobs of Liquid Pearls by Ranger and finished it off with little gold bows.

The greeting is from Waltzing Mouse's Say It Loud Winter set, heat embossed in gold and Stickles Dry  Glitter.

On the inside I stamped a greeting from Chocolate Baroque's Warm Christmas Greetings using Memento Cottage Ivy.

And now for some festive fun:

Brighter Days

Hello, my friends! Just popping in to share with you a card I made for someone dear to us. She could do with some cheering up. Given the wet couple of days we've been having, I could do with some cheering up too. It's a perfect day for a warm sticky bun and hot coffee!

Here's my simple card. It's not CAS, I know. But it's a lot simpler than my usual production, wouldn't you agree?

I made 5" square card, with a little strip of paper from Cosmo Cricket's Togetherness pad. For the lace edge I used Woodware punch. The umbrella and sentiment are from Clearly Besotted's April Showers set.

Here's a close-up of the umbrella, stamped with Memento Bamboo Leaves, Cantaloupe and Danube Blue and cut with Clearly Besotted's coordinating April Shower die. For layering I used Spellbinders Circle and Scalloped Circle dies.

For the inside, I flung the umbrella down. She won't be needing it on bright sunny days!

A few challenges for this card:

Polka Doodles #39: More Than One Fold

Wooohoooo! It's the weekend....well almost. And here's another reason to be happy - an brand new challenge over at Polka Doodles Blog and its called "More Than One Fold". Ooooh it's a fun theme and and I'm sure you'll enjoy it.

For my DT project I made this variation on a square trifold card. I'm using papers and pre-coloured digi from Polka Doodles' adorable Angelberry CD.

I'm using kraft CS for my card base. The greeting is also from the Angelberry CD. There's that cute angel peeking from a window.

Open the card and you see this: I layered angel on die-cuts and gave her a generous halo made on re and blue bling.

Here the inside of the card. Isn't that reindeer paper adorable?

And to finish: some sheer ribbon tied in a bow.

And now for some early Christmas fun:

Simple Birthday Card

Hello there! Just whizzing in to share 2 really simple birthday cards. These have to find their way in to the super efficient (!) Portuguese postal service by today or they may never reach their destination! And don't get me started on the increase in postal rates!

2 cards for 2 sisters. To save myself from being dragged into a "mine is better than yours" altercation, I've made both cards identical.... well, almost identical.

Cool Britannia papers in blue. To cut out the centre panel I used Spellbinders Scalloped Square die. For embellishment: 3 blings in the top right corner.
Inside - balloons for the birthday girl from Clearly Besotted's "Make A Wish" set.

The balloon and  greeting are from Clearly Besotted's Make A Wish set, stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black.

I jazzed up the inside (since the card front is fairly simple) with Memento Rose Bud, Cantaloupe, Danube Blue and Bamboo Leaves.

And now for some real fun:

Christmas Card Club #18: Snowman

It's Monday and that can only mean one thing - it's Mojo time. I'm using this week's sketch to make a card for our fortnightly Christmas Card Club. The lovely Sue J of Ollie's Mam - mummy to the adorable Master Ollie - has chosen "Snowman" as our challenge theme. I'm a little late, but I'm sure Ollie will put in a good word for me.

My card looks like this:

The background papers are from Papermania's "Winter Frolic" 8x8 pad. I've had it for ages, probably out of print now. The greeting is from WMS "Compliments of the Season", stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black.

This winter scene is from a set that came free with a magazine a couple of Christmases ago...I think. Any how, I had to chuck it .... it kinda fell apart on the acrylic block! Free isn't always good, my friends. Still, mustn't complain. I had a couple of good cards out of it... this being the last. I coloured the image with Promarkers and for layering and cutting I used Spellbinders Circle and Scalloped Circle dies.

Still keeping the non-trad pink and green combo, I stamped some snowflakes using Memento Rose Bud and Bamboo Leaves.  All the stamps are from WMS "Compliments of the Season"

And now for some fun:

Eclectic Ellapu #48: For A Boy

Hello there, my friends! It's time for another Eclectic Ellapu challenge. Our hostess this week is the lovely Sheena and she wants us to make a project "For A Boy". Let's get straight to it, shall we? Here's my contribution to this week's challenge:

The background paper, sentiment and image are from PolkaDoodles "BonBon Belles" CD.  This is  birthday card for a dear friend who is an officer in the Navy.

Here's a close-up of the cute pirate. We've always suspected the Officer's true vocation lies elsewhere!

A simple birthday message inside from WMS "Half Pint Heroes".

Cupcake Birthday... The Sequel

Friday at last, my friends! More to the point...where has the week gone? It's almost October. Have you noticed that the days are shorter and the evening are decidedly colder? And here's a scary thought: are you ready for Christmas?!

Oktoberfest, in our family is all about birthdays. Husband, Sister, Cousins, Nieces, Nephews, Second Cousins, Cousins 4x Removed and Friends. There's a birthday almost every day in October. Phew!

Today's show and tell is a card for my sister. She is CAS personified and makes a minimalist look like an out of control hoarder. Two years ago I made her a cupcake card in my usual style - bells, whistles and tons of glitter. We're still waiting for it to arrive! This year, with great trepidation, I made another cupcake card. I should have just stamped a cupcake on white CS and mailed it. But you know me.... don't know the meaning of CAS.

So, dear Sister, here's Cupcake Card Take 2:

Simple card. The pink gingham paper is by Papermania. Then I stamped the musical score from Clearly Besotted's Background Builder with Memento Bamboo Leaves.  The big bold greeting is from the It's Your Birthday set stamped with Memento Rich Cocoa.

The cupcake is also from the It's Your Birthday set. I inked the case with Memento Rose Bud and the cake top with Memento Desert Sand. For the cherry I used Memento Rhubarb Stalk. Then I cut the whole thing out with Clearly Besotted's coordinating die. And to finish, some thin sheer ribbon neatly tied in a bow.

Here's the inside. This time I stamped the cupcake with Memento Rhubarb Stalk (base) VersaColor Cocoa and Memento Toffee Crunch (candle).

Challenges you might like to join too:
Tuesday Morning Sketches #216 - sketch
Make It Monday #158 "Anything Goes"
Jelly Park Challenges "Sentiment is Key"
Sister Act Card #25 "Anything Goes"
Crafty Ribbons Challenge #62 "Anything Goes with Ribbon"
Seize The Birthday "Anything Goes"
Clearly Besotted Challenge #4 "Stamp Your Own Background"

Thanks for stopping by today. I'll be back with more birthday cards... oh yes, quite a few more! Have a lovely Friday.

Tuesday Throwdown #165: Things with Wings

Goooood morning, fellow crafters! Are you ready for another Tuesday Throwdown challenge? Get your ink and paper out and let's get crafty! The theme this week is Things With Wings.

MyGraphico is sponsoring this week's challenge and they have very generously given the DT a few cuties to play with. Being so pressed for time, I made a simple card, which will most likely find its way to a little girl I know who is just nuts about fairies.

I cut and layered the little fairy with Spellbinders Ovals and Lacey Ovals dies. Other extras include bling and some chocolate gingham ribbon. That lovely background paper is by PolkaDoodles.

Here's a close-up of my fairy. I coloured her with Promarkers and Graph'It pens. I'm not terribly pleased with my colouring. It was late and I was so tired. Luckily she's a cutie to start with and there was very little I could do to spoil her, especially with lashings of Stickles on her dress and wings.

And this is what it looks like inside.

There's my card so how about you show me yours! You can make thing with wings - fairies, angels, birdies, butterflies, bees... airplanes? Head on over to the Tuesday Throwdown Challenge Blog and link up your project.

Thank you so much for stopping by today. Have a super crafty day!

Happy Birthday

Hello my friends, we meet again! I owe you all an apology. I haven't been visiting much. In fact, I haven't posted much on my blog since we got back from our vacation. Somehow work is getting in the way. Today I made some time to be crafty and after dinner I will make a few rounds.... hopefully before I crash face-down on the keyboard.

I have a quick make for you - a birthday card I made for a friend. He'll be 32 tomorrow. I was 32 once.... a very long time ago.

No patterned papers. I stamped the background with a row of presents using Rhubarb Stalk and Danube Blue. Look carefully - I threw in a few red bling!

The greeting and balloons are also from this set. I let the twine hang loose.

Just a simple message on the inside.

Inks: Memento Rhubarb Stalk, Memento Danube Blue

And now for some challenges:

So that's it form me. I'm off too see to dinner and I'll be back after that to snoop around your blogs! Thanks for stopping by and I'll be seeing ya!

Yay!!!! It's Friday at long last, friends! And I am over the moon. Oh what a week it has been. If you're the superstitious kind, you'll probably want to stay home today... Friday the 13th and all that.

Anyways, I'm closing the week with a card for a brand new challenge over at the PolkaDoodles Blog. Can you guess the theme of this week's challenge? No? Not a clue? In that case, just head on over to the Challenge Blog and find out.

In the meantime, here's my DT offering and it's on it's way to an adorable little man who will be 6 tomorrow.

I'm using papers, digi stamp and greeting from Polka Doodles BonBon Belles Double CD Collection. This collection is chock full of the most delightful images, embellishments, papers, toppers, frames, borders, elements, cutting files and sentiments - in fact it has everything you'll ever need to make gorgeous projects. At £17.99, this double CD collection really is value for money.

Where has my Mojo gone?

Hello again, my friends. I'm experiencing a creative block. When we were away, my head was positively bubbling with ideas of local designs and techniques I'd like to incorporate into my projects when we got home. My creative furnace was burning high.

And then we got home and .... nothing. It's as if I forgot to pack my Mojo, and left him languishing in our hotel room somewhere. Or perhaps he did not clear the countless customs check points at various airports. (My husband even had to remove his shoes at one point - I kid you not!) In any case, my Mojo did not make it home with me...and I miss him terribly.

So I sat in my craft room and willed him to return. Reluctantly, he made a fleeting appearance and this card was born. I hope you like it. It is for all you wonderful friends and bloggers who visited me and left me beautiful comments during my absence. You're the best!

I'm going CAS on this one. No patterned papers, just an embossed background. I used a Crafts-Too folder.  A little pale pink satin ribbon completes the picture.

The wee butterflies and greeting are from Clearly Besotted's Butterfly Additions set. I used Memento Rose Bud and Cantaloupe for the butterflies and Memento Elderberry for the greeting. To cut out the butterflies I used the coordinating Butterfly Wishes dies

On the inside I adhered the 2 spare butterflies I had made...just in case I goof things up. I'm quite famous for it... goofing up, I mean. And hey, waste not, want not much!

Okey-dokey. And now for some challenges:
Mojo Monday #310 - sketch
Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge - "Embossed"
Daring Cardmakers "September Colour Combo"
Make It Monday #157 "Anything Goes"
All Sorts Challenge #223 "Butterflies"

That's all from me today. I have a DT project due tomorrow. And I just don't know where to begin. Gosh! Thanks for stopping by, my friends, and I hope you're having a successful day!

Christmas Card Club #17: Monochrome

Good evening, my friends. This is going to be a short post from me. Not feeling my best today. Been sneezing and coughing all day long. Not sure why. I may be coming down with a cold or it could be some kind of allergic reaction.... Maybe I'm allergic to being back home from vacation! LOL. But I really past caring at this stage - my nose is red and swollen, my throat is sore and my head is thumping. You know what I mean. But before I go to bed, I want share with you my latest project.

This fortnight, the challenge over at our wee little Christmas Card Club is being hosted by the lovely Clare and she has decided our projects shall be in Monochrome. Here's my card... done in various shades of red.... Christmassy enough for ya?! :-D

Just one patterned paper and it's  from Papermania's latest festive pack called Christmas In The Country. Hardly any embellies on this one - some twine and 3 medium sized blings. I want the image to be the star of this card. I'm calling it CAS. Truth be known, I'm just being lazy! :-)

And here is a close-up of that image from Chocolate Baroque's "Stained Glass" Christmas" set, stamped with Memento Rhubarb Stalk. I added some coloured - in shades of red - using SN markers.

On the inside, I continued my play with red by using Rhubard Stalk again to stamp this greeting from Waltzing Mouse's "Say It Loud - Winter Holiday" set.... and a few wonky bling to seal the deal.

Here are some challenges for this card:

That's all from me today. Thank you for stopping by and enjoy the rest of your Sunday...tomorrow is a school day, urgh! I'll be seeing ya!
