I made this card late last night...and it made me feel better. In the wee hours as I sat alone in my craft room, quiet, peaceful (except for Rosie's somnolent snoring), these words from this week's Word Art Wednesday #62 resonated in me. For me it's more than just about having a clean heart, but also about learning to let go, to empty ourselves of every thought, every feeling - good and bad - and to surrender it all to Him. That's not an easy thing to do. It really is a test of faith and I tried. Over analysing is never a good thing. So I switched off the lights, said my prayers, went to bed and found my place in Rosie's nocturnal choir.
The paper is from Pink Paislee's "Spring Jubilee" 6x6 pad.
I cut the heart out with Nellie Snellen's Heart die, and made a window show the verse inside. I also fussy cut around the bird and part of the twig.
Very few embellishment: some twine and a little row of pale blue bling.
On the inside, I used another paper Spring Jubilee and layered the verse on more die-cuts.
Ideas and inspiration for this card came from Twist of Faith #19 - sketch; Word Art Wednesday #62 "Hearts / Anything Goes"; Colour Throwdown #224 - colours; Inkspirational Challenge #2 - photo and Moxi Fab World #60 "Make a Card with a Window".
There you have it, my friends. I hope you have great weekend. The sun is shining here (for a change!) and we've got a diver's party to go to later. I have been reliably informed that the dessert table will not disappoint. We have much to be thankful for. See you soon! (FYI - Rosie is our canine songstress.)
