Hello, friends!!! Welcome to the second ART JOURNAL collaboration with a very dear and special blog friend - VICKI PARSON of Stamp Smiles. We are both fairly new to art journalling and decided we should encourage this passion with a monthly show and tell. This month we are creating a page inspired by the season - so it's Halloween / Fall. And here is my page:
Yes. I know. It's purple and black and scary. I was shooting for something from The Munsters, with a dash of Casper and with a touch of Bate's Motel! The stamps are by Chocolate Baroque. I've used Spookylicious, Halloween Edges and Put A Spell On You. First, I primed the page with Faber Castell Gesso and when completely dry, I applied Folk Art Acrylic Paints to create the background: 689 Pure Magenta, 636 Red Violet, 964 Midnight and 938 Licorice.
I heat embossed the sentiment from Spookylicious. The ghosts from Put A Spell On You are heat set on white vellum, fussy cut and adhered to the page.
The house is from Spookylicious. I coloured it with Copics and adhered it to the page. I also stamped a few swirls to the sky with Ranger Archival Cobalt for a spooky misty feel.
The mushrooms in the foreground are from Halloween Edges, also coloured with Copics, fussy cut and layered in front of the house. I added some highlight with a Sharpie Extra Fine White Paint pen. I spritzed the entire page with Perfect Pearl for a misty glow, which sadly is not obvious from the photos.
I used Faber Castell Brush markers to add details and shadows. And to brighten things up I added white dots and added highlights with the Sharpie Extra Fine White Paint pen.
