Chocolate Baroque June Release 2: Briar Rose Butterfly

Hello friends! Hope you're having fun with the new June release stamps from Chocolate Baroque. Today I'm showcasing the Briar Rose Butterfly A5 stamp sheet. Have you seem the images on this set? Oh so pretty and they make stunning summer projects, but I found out they are perfect for Christmas too!

**********

For my first sample I stamped the largest briar rose image and coloured it with water colours. For the background, I did some inking with various shades of blue and stamped random snowflakes from Family Christmas. Next, I stamped the twig-like image from Briar Rose Butterfly all around the die-cut window and added some red Liquid Pearls - suggestion of a wreath of holly berries. To finish a greeting from Warm Christmas Greetings and some glitter on the butterflies.

Background: TH Distress Inks - Stormy Sky, Weathered Wood and Tumbled Glass.
Image: Windsor & Newton Water Colours - 587 Rose Madder, 692 Viridian, 721 Windsor Green,

653 Transparent Yellow, 644 Titanium White, 263 French Ultramarine, 178 Cobalt Blue and
076 Burnt Umber.
Inks: VersaFine Black Onyx (image); VersaFine Olympia Green (twiggy wreath); VersaColor Baby Blue (snowflakes) and VersaColor Cardinal (greeting)

On the inside, more twiggy action and a sentiment from Warm Christmas Greetings.

My second project is also a Christmas card, but this time in CAS style... at least I think it is! I stamped the briar rose stalk and coloured it with alcohol markers. Next, I inked the background in shades of pale blue and stamped snowflakes and a greeting from Stained Glass Christmas. To finish, some pale blue bling and deep red ribbon.

BackgroundTH Distress Inks - Tumbled Glass and Salty Ocean
Inks: Memento Tuxedo Black (image and greeting) and VersaMagic Sea Breeze (snowflakes)

Image: Promarkers - Pine, Forest Green, Leaf Green, Cardinal Red, Berry Red, Lipstick, Plum Purple, Amethyst, Orchid.

On the inside I'm using the same sentiment from Warm Christmas Greetings and
a leafy flourish from Briar Rose Butterfly - all stamped with Versafine Olympia Green.

Challenges for this card:

Addicted To Stamps and More #99: CAS
Loves Rubberstamps #107: CAS

The Briar Rose Butterfly A5 sheet is perfect for summer projects but they are so versatile that you'll be giving these stamps a good workout all year 'round. And guess what? I have more Christmas projects lined up over the weekend. Oh it must be this June heat ....

Thanks for stopping by and have a lovely day, my friends.

Beijinhos!

  1. Oh how beautiful both are. The first reminds me of the Christmas Rose one often see in Germany and i love the twigs surrounding it. The 2nd is a brilliant red and a touch of summer and remembrance. Great cards. Give a hug to Rosie and i hope she is eating a little bit
