Sharing your sorrow...

Hello there, fellow crafters! Yesterday I had to make a card that I took no pleasure in making... a sympathy card. Like most people it is my least favourite card to make. I had planned to make a birthday card for a blogging buddy using this week's Tuesday Morning Sketch ... oh well, these things happen ... to all of us ... eventually.

This card is going to someone very close to the family. I'm keeping it clean and simple.

No patterned papers. For my background, I embossed the CS with the D'Vine Swirls folder. Extras include grey sheer ribbon, grey satin ribbon and white lace. I used white brads to adhere the embossed background to some grey CS and popped up the entire panel to the card base with foam tape.

The sentiment is from Our Daily Bread's "Sharing Your Sorrow" set, heat embossed in white onto some coral CS. For cutting and embossing, I used Spellbinders Ovals and Scalloped Ovals dies .... and yes, more pop dots for a little height.

On the inside, another little sentiment from the same ODB stamp set.

Challenges for this card:
Tuesday Morning Sketches #210 - sketch
Colour Q #201 - colours
Word Art Wednesday #92 "Anything Goes" with uplifting sentiment
Flourishes Timeless Tuesday #232 "Create Own Background" - embossed background
Make It Monday #152 "Anything Goes"
Crafty Creations #234 "Texture" - embossed background
Delightful Sketches "Make It Pop"
Whimsical Designs "Anything Goes"
Perfect Sentiments #86 "Favorite Technique" - embossing

That's all from me today. Thanks for stopping by. We're counting the days before we leave on our summer hols. I'm excited yet anxious about leaving our furballs behind. They're getting old and so many age related stuff going on... Enough of my troubles,  I wish y'all a beautiful Thursday, my friends!

Beijinhos!
