Eclectic Ellapu #42: Art Deco

Parker Duofold pen set
Hello there, my friends! Welcome to a brand new challenge over at Eclectic Ellapu. This week we want you to do something sophisticated, like an Art Deco inspired creation.

I struggled with this one... What is Art Deco? Flapper? The Charleston? Agatha Christie's Hercule Poirot?  Betty Boop?

I went straight to Mr Google for a 10 minute education on Art Deco. Quite an eye-opener. Apparently, I am familiar with the Art Deco style, I just didn't know it was called that. You're probably in the same boat! Don't believe me? The spire of the Chrysler Building in New York is just one famous example of late '20s Art Deco.

My card is inspired by the bold colours and sunburst design of a 1930s pen set by the Parker Pen Company. It's a birthday card for an older man.

No patterned papers. I created a sunburst pattern with contrasting colours: yellow and brown.

The image is from Chocolate Baroque's Music Fanfare, coloured with SN and Promarkers. To finish, just 3 black pearls. That's it!

The sentiment is from WMS Fancy Phrases, stamped with Memento Rich Cocoa.

Challenges for this card:
Brown Sugar Challenge #54 "Anything Goes"
Sister Act Card Challenge #19 "Anything Goes"
5 Simple Things Inspire Me Fridays #115 "Anything Goes"
All Sorts Challenge #219 "Stitching"

Thanks for stopping by and have a lovely weekend!

Beijinhos!

  17. You already know I love your coloring ;) but what caught my eyes besides that was how you situated the 3 black pearls in a seemingly random fashion - lovely effect.
