I'm usually psyched about playing MojoMonday. Today I'm not, in fact I'm writing this quite late in the night with a heavy heart. 9 years ago my little pookie pooch Snoopy was born. Twelve weeks and 3 days ago....she left me. I was hoping by now I'd be ok, but I'm not. I miss her so very much. Instead of wallowing in sadness (which is what I really want to do), a happy card might be a better way to remember her today. And so here it is, a card for a Birthday that has brought Joy and Redemption to the world.
The papers are form Dovecraft's Vintage Christmas.
Here is a close-up of the image from Chocolate Baroque's "Peace On Earth" unmounted stamp set. I heat embossed it with fine black EP and did some emboss resist with distress inks for the background: Tumbled Glass and Tattered Rose for the sky and Antique Linen for the sand. I'm quite pleased with the subtle effect - dawn in the Holy Land.
For embellies I went for bling and some white lace tied in a bow.
And now for some challenges: MojoMonday #301; That Craft Place "Ribbons and/or Lace"; The Paper Players #153 "Christmas In July"; Ribbon Girls July Card Challenge "Add a Bow"; The Squirrel And The Fox #47 "Christmas In July"; Crafting When We Can #48 Christmas In July"; Gem of a Challenge #87 "Lots of Layers"; ABC Challenge #36 "Christmas In July" and Platypus Creek Digitals #36 "Christmas in July".
Thank you for stopping by. I want to share with you this picture we took of Snoops last Christmas. I got her a Santarina outfit and we had a heck of a time trying to photograph her. She kept bopping about and the hat kept falling off... oh happy days!
