Joy to the World

The title is a giveaway. I made Christmas card.

I'm usually psyched about playing MojoMonday. Today I'm not, in fact I'm writing this quite late in the night with a heavy heart. 9 years ago my little pookie pooch Snoopy was born. Twelve weeks and 3 days ago....she left me. I was hoping by now I'd be ok, but I'm not. I miss her so very much. Instead of wallowing in sadness (which is what I really want to do), a happy card might be a better way to remember her today. And so here it is, a card for a Birthday that has brought Joy and Redemption to the world.

The papers are form Dovecraft's Vintage Christmas.

Here is a close-up of the image from Chocolate Baroque's "Peace On Earth" unmounted stamp set. I heat embossed it with fine black EP and did some emboss resist with distress inks for the background: Tumbled Glass and Tattered Rose for the sky and Antique Linen for the sand. I'm quite pleased with the subtle effect - dawn in the Holy Land.

For embellies I went for bling and some white lace tied in a bow.

And now for some challenges: MojoMonday #301That Craft Place "Ribbons and/or Lace"The Paper Players #153 "Christmas In July"Ribbon Girls July Card Challenge "Add a Bow"The Squirrel And The Fox #47 "Christmas In July"Crafting When We Can #48 Christmas In July"Gem of a Challenge #87 "Lots of Layers"ABC Challenge #36 "Christmas In July" and Platypus Creek Digitals #36 "Christmas in July".

Thank you for stopping by. I want to share with you this picture we took of Snoops last Christmas. I got her a Santarina outfit and we had a heck of a time trying to photograph her. She kept bopping about and the hat kept falling off... oh happy days!

You card is lovely...Love that stamp!

A wonderful card was waiting in the mailbox for me upon my return home! Loved it and will be showing it on my blog as soon as I get organized...my computer blew the monitor...loud popping noise and black screen of death. Have to get out and have my programs moved over to the new laptop. Have to get my photo downloader corrected in the new laptop as it is not loading photos correctly! sigh!
Then I can finally post again!

  7. Asha, I absolutely love the way you did the background on the image. Magnificent! What a great stamp for heat embossing. Love the way you did the 'out of the box' technique with the palm fronds at the top. Everything just works so well together.
