Live in the Sunshine

Good morning, my friends. I was going to post this card last night...And then I sat down with my notebook and fell asleep...upright. So much for living in the sunshine!

Here it is, a birthday card for a 60-year old gentleman who loves the sun and the sea.

The background paper is from Fancy Pants "Summer's End" 6x6 pad. This card is all about the focal image.  We live by the sea and summer evenings look a lot like this. So I just had to buy the stamp set...of, course I have an excuse for every stamp I buy!

A closer look at the image. It's from Chocolate Baroque's Seashore Scenes, stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black. I had so much fun colouring it with Promarkers and a couple of SNs. Doesn't the sun look like an orange!

To mark his age, I made a little flag using a cocktail stick some red CS and silver peel-off. To finish, a little twine bow.

I have the birthday greeting on the inside, stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black,

This would be perfect for this week's Eclectic Ellapu Challenge, so I'm adding it there for extra inspiration. Check it out what my DT sistahs have put on show for you and play along: Celebrate Summer Sunshine.

Thanks for stopping by and I wish y'all a super-sunny and thrilling Thursday. See ya tomorrow!

Beijinhos!

  15. Great card Asha...Love the sunshine over the water and lighthouse. You are so lucky to live amonst such beauty.
Pouring rain here. Roads closed due to flooding, main highway closed, we had to drive across a washed out section of the highway to get to the lake. Record rainfalls and more crummy weather forcast. Ughhhh.
We have back to back company coming starting tomorrow...I hope they get a little nice weather while they are here. Normally it is go to the beach type weather by now...
