It's almost the weekend, my friends! I can't wait! It's been a hectic and hot week and I am so ready to chill out, preferably with a nice long cold beverage in hand. But before that, I just want to share with you this little quickie birthday card I made for a friend.
22 years ago she moved to the middle of nowhere in a far-away land called Oz with her then fiance. Today she is a busy wife to a cattle farmer and mother to 5 boys... still in the middle of nowhere. Despite her busy and often chaotic life she finds the time to send letters and postcards to family and friends. Apparently its easier to put pen to paper than to switch on the computer! I'm not complaining. It's curiously heartwarming to open an envelope and fish out something other than a bill.... and a letter from a faraway friend is just another nod from heaven!
| Here's a close-up of the furry little guy. He's called Penpal Mouse by MelJen and I coloured him with SN markers. |

| The greeting is from WMS "Say It Loud" stamped with Memento Espresso Truffle. It's a little wonky....I blame Gina & Tony for that! |
Here are some challenges for you: Tuesday Morning Sketches #204 - sketch; Come And Get It #321 "3 Embellishments 2 Papers and 1 Twine/Ribbon"; Die Cuttin' Divas #121 "Birthday + 3 Embellishments"; Charisma Cardz #25 "Recipe 3-2-1" - 3 bling, 2 papers, 1 twine; Crafting By Designs "Anything Goes"; and Word Art Wednesday #86 "Anything Goes with Uplifting Sentiment".
That's all from me today. Thanks for stopping by. I'm off to the post-office in a bit to send off this guy on his long journey to Oz. Hope y'all have a lovely Thursday... and say hi to a friend today!

ReplyDeleteGorgeous card Asha. Love your mouse with his pencil! How fantastic to get real mail!! Yes email is fine, and quick - but a real paper letter is something special. I am a tactile person; I love touching things - paper, fabric etc. In the same way that I much prefer the feel and smell of a real book to using a Kindle. Old fashioned, I know. Love and hugs from Christine xx
