Irish Birthday Hugs

I don't know if there's such a thing as an Irish birthday hug. But if there were, I'd give it to our hostess for this week's Eclectic Ellapu Challenge #20. The theme is "Birthdays". Nana Connie is celebrating her 35th birthday (ahem!) at the end of the week and she deserves a card that pays tribute to her Irish heritage. Here is the card I made for Nana Connie:

The patterned papers are from Papermania's Capsule Collection "Verde". I'm sticking to a very simple colour combo of cream and green.

An easy sketch with some cream vintage lace....

... Shamrock digi from Waltzing Mouse Stamp, coloured with SN markers ...

... and sentiment from Say It Loud by Waltzing Mouse Stamps, stamped in Brilliance Cottage Ivy. I cut out the sentiment and digi image with Spellbinders Labels 4 and inked the edges with TH Antique Linen and Peeled Paint. Finally, some sheer cream ribbon tied in a bow.

Here's the inside....keeping it simple.
I'm also playing along with: Penny's Paper Crafty Challenge #117 "Stitching - Real or Faux"; Catch The Bug March Theme "Green Thumb"Inkspirational Challenge #10 "Shades of Green"; Crafty Creations Challenge #212 "Green"; Wags n Whiskers Challenge #99 "Go Green"; Dilly Beans Challenge "Going Green"; Make It Monday #131 "Anything Goes" and Stampin' For The Weekend "Use Lace".

Now it's your turn to create a birthday card... for an adult, a child, a relative or a friend. Why not give it  an Irish twist since St Patrick's day is just around the corner. Don't forget to link it up to the Eclectic Ellapu Challenge blog. For ideas and inspiration, swing by the rest of the design team and I guarantee you will be impressed.  Ready, set, go! I'll be popping by to take a look at your projects!

Beijinhos!
