You're HOW Old?!

That, my friends, is a question I've come to dread. It seems everyone around me is getting older. Most of my friends are in their 40s and 50s, yet I've managed to remain a sprightly 25. Yes, ma'am! Yesterday I had coffee with a good friend and we discussed mood swings and sweltering nights. Later that day, I met up with my sister-in-law and like a couple of normal 25-year olds, we talked about hot flushes and disrupted sleep.

Today I'm inexplicably shocked to find myself making a birthday card for a 45-year old. My contemporary who, over the years, has become softer, rounder, cuddlier and a little worn and thread"bear" in places... and yet he still rocks! And then, quite unexpectedly, I am caught asking the very question I dread: You're how old?!

For my card, I used the sketch is from Tuesday Morning Sketches #164 and paired it with colours from Colour Throwdown #210. Here's the card I made to celebrate his milestone birthday.

I decided to make a tent card for a change. The papers are by Stampin' Up! 

And here's the cuddly rock-star teddy bear. He's called Teddy Bo, stamped with Memento ink and coloured with Spectrum Noirs. For a textured look I dotted and flicked the colours while blending.

For embellies I used some twine and a button - yeah, for once I'm keeping it simple! I heat embossed the WMS sentiment. For the age I used  peel-offs by Papermania.  

If you hadn't noticed by now, Teddy Bo is resting on pop dots.

And what's on the inside? A birthday greeting and a pair of warm slippers befitting a 45-year old!
